There are seven parish councillors to Bournheath Parish Council, elected to serve a four-year term of office or co-opted to serve the remainder of the 4-year term in the event of a casual vacancy.
Each parish councillor is duty-bound to abide by the Members’ Code of Conduct, a copy of which is available on this website.  As part of the Code members are required to publicise specific items of information in the Members’ Register of Interests which is compiled and maintained by the Monitoring Officer at Bromsgrove District Council.

I am an active member of the Bournheath community having lived most of my life so far in the Bromsgrove district. I am a keen supporter of the community with a special interest in health and safety issues and the environment and have worked with a cross-section of service providers to progress drainage improvements for our residents. I also represent the district’s parish councils on the Bromsgrove Safety Partnership. In May 2015 I was elected to serve the new district council ward of Perryfields which is complementary to my role as chairman at Bournheath PC.

I have lived in this Woodvale area since 1975 and have been a Bournheath parish councillor since May 2007, where I am currently vice-chairman. I have volunteered for the role of parish tree warden for many years and have a particular interest in environmental matters, regularly liaising with the parish Lengthsman and grass cutting contractor and overseeing the planting of spring bulbs and other village enhancement schemes. We are lucky to live in this pleasant country environment yet so close to urban facilities!

Having spent 15 happy years in the Village, as many others do as a Working Commuter, on retirement 5 years ago I decided it was time to put something back into this wonderful village of ours and perhaps use some of my business experiences along the way. When asked to consider becoming a Parish Councillor and being happy to volunteer some spare time I thought this to be a good way of achieving this aim. In the meantime I also became a member of Bournheath Village Community Centre and I am the current Chairman. I engage in a number of activities around the Village and I am prepared to talk and listen to other Villagers

I have lived in Bournheath for the past eight years but have lived nearby in Catshill and Fairfield for most of my life. I spent my whole career in banking until a few years ago when I took early retirement and now work for just a few hours for the NHS. This gives me some spare time and I can often be seen walking my dogs around the Parish and as I really enjoy living here I’m very happy to do all I can to help keep it an attractive and friendly place to live.

Originally from the Black Country, I have lived in Bournheath for over three years and in Bromsgrove for over 20 years. After a long and varied career working jointly across the Dept of Health and NHS, particularly in Mental Health, Public Health and Health Promotion, I now work part time in a local Care Organisation and as well as volunteering at Primrose Hospice, both in the Day Centre and Complementary Therapies Centre.

I have two grown up sons and twin grandsons, I’m a keen gardener, often walk my dog around the Parish and generally enjoy village life. I am always happy to chat to both fellow parishioners and visitors to our lovely village.

Being a resident of Bournheath I am pleased to be a member of the parish council where, along with my fellow councillors, I can help to bring about improvements in the parish. I have recently taken on the Parish Footpath Warden role which involves checking on the accessibility of our 6.6km of footpaths in and around the parish that includes a short section of the Monarch’s Way from Mill Lane to Top Road. I am often out and about in the parish and happy to talk!
