Parish Councils are established by statute and carry out work that is allowed for in law. Generally they have a wide range of powers that can be used to benefit their communities ranging from the provision of play areas and community facilities to contributions to traffic calming and provision of allotments.
As an ‘eligible’ council, Bournheath Parish Council adopted the General Power of Competence in 2012. This means the parish council can do anything that an individual might do as long as it is not forbidden by other legislation.
The services provided by the parish council include:
- Provision of street furniture
- Provision of dog-waste bags on Bournheath playing field
- Notice-boards
We are pleased to also benefit from Worcestershire County Council initiatives that include:
- Lengthsman Scheme
- Parish Paths Warden
- Parish Tree Warden
